Storyboard Text

  • Winston returns to his home on his lunch break.
  • I'm surrounded by Big Brother. There must be someway for me to get away.
  • This corner is out of reach of my telescreen I cannot be watched from here. Maybe I should start a diary.
  • Winston sits in his chair, and pours himself a drink.
  • Nervously, "Winston kept his backed turned to the telescreen. It was safer, though, as well as he knew, even a back can be revealing"(Orwell 6).
  • Down With Big Brother
  • Owning a diary is an act punishable by death, maybe this isn't the best idea.
  • Winston begins to realize he does not know who he is writing. He starts to write his stream of consciousness.
  • "This is good stuff"
  • Despite the risk of creating a diary Winston starts to write about his recent trip to the movies and young women he was attracted to at work.
  • "Who could that be?"
  • Winston stops writing as he hears a knock at the door
