  • The Japanese insisted on taking most islands in the Pacific, as well as a few countries in Asia.
  • Colonization
  • Embargo
  • Japan started taking countries by force, and America decided to stop oil trade with Japan altogether. 
  • Surprise Attack
  • Tojo was furious and launched a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor in Oahu, Hawaii.
  • Aftermath
  • Just over 2,900 people died in the attack, most of which were American. Only a few Japanese died from plane crashes, and those mainly led to side-battles
  • December 7th, 1941. A day which will live... in infamy.
  • With this being the first attack on US soil since the 1700's, the president addressed th nation and informed of this terrible act. This marked the start of the US entering the war.
  • Internment Camps
  • After the strike, Japanese, whether citizens or not, were to be kept in internment camps.
