  • That is true, but it also benefits the North!
  • People in the North talk about their want for the tariff
  • We need this tariff because it will help our industries.
  • Yes, but it could be unfair.
  • The North and South disagreed on the tariff because it benefited the North, but not the South.
  • Government Bias
  • The Government is biasing the North over the South!
  • I agree! This is unfair
  • The tariff benefited most people in the North, but not in the south. This made people in the North want it more.
  • Nullification
  • I am shocked that Jackson doesn't support nullification
  • I know! I can't believe that he wouldn't support it
  • I think that we should break away from the US so we can have fair rights.
  • The Northern people wanted the tariff because it helped with their industries.
  • Problems in the South
  • I don't think were allowed to!
  • Many people thought that the government biased the North over the South because of this tariff.
  • Although Jackson supported states’ rights, Southerners were stunned when he did not support nullification. Jackson was outraged by South Carolina’s vote to nullify the Tariff of Abominations, because of their disobedience.
  • Some Southerners wanted the Southern states to secede, or break away, from the United States.
