The Friendship of Macbeth and Banquo

I will examine three versions of Act 1 Scene 3, Macbeth 1978, Macbeth 1998, and Macbeth 1997.
I will discuss the actors close proximity to one another as well as their usage of facial expressions to convey their close friendship. The actors in this version must be very expressive because the scene is empty but for them. This is the 1978 version.
I will discuss the actors lack of facial expressions, especially in comparison to the 1978 version. The mood of the scene is conveyed more through music and scenery than through the actors themselves. This leaves the strength of their friendship in doubt. This is the 1998 made for TV version.
In the version from 1997, some key dialogue is left out that helps to show the friendship's depth. With Banquo's seemingly cavalier attitude in this version, it seems as though Macbeth and Banquo's friendship is more casual than in the 1978 version, but closer than in the 1998 version.
