  • Outside John Proctor's House...
  • John Proctor had an affair with Abigail and he is thinking hard, about what he did.
  • " I am a sinner against moral fashion, and his own vision (Miller, 20)."
  • " I feel my foolish n my presence instantly (Miller, 20).
  • When Abigail and Proctor meet in Salem...
  • John Proctor runs into Abigail when he hears about the accusations of witch craft and Abigail and John talk about what she has been doing in the woods.
  • "We were dancing' in the woods last night, my uncle leaped in on us. She took fright, is all (Miller, 21-22)."
  • "Ah,you're wicked yet, aren't y'! You'll be clapped in the stocks before you're twenty (Miller, 22)."
  • Abigail and John Proctor had an affair that has been eating Proctor away all this time.
  • "Give me a word, John. A soft word (Miller, 22)."
  • "No, no, Abby. That's done with (Miller, 22)."
  • John tries to explain to Abigail that she needs to stop thinking about him and that he is ending all ties with her.
  • "I know how you clutched me back behind your house and sweated like a stallion whenever I come near! Or did I dream that? it's she put me out, you cannot pretend it were you. I saw your face when she put me out, and you loved me then and you do now (Miller, 22)!"
  • "Abby, you'll put it out of mind. I'll not be com in' for you more (Miller, 22)."
  • Abigail is trying to tell John that He still has feelings for her regardless that he is married to Elizabeth.
  • "A wild thing may say wild things. But not so wild, I think. I have seen you since she put me out; I have seen you nights (Miller, 23)."
  • " I have hardly stepped off my fem this seven month (Miller, 23)."
  • John Proctor gets very at Abigail but mainly himself because he caused this entire situation.
  • "Why did I get involved with a child (Miller, 23)?"
  • "You'll speak nothin' of Elizabeth (Miller, 23)!"
  • "Oh, I marvel how such a strong man may let such a sickly wife be (Miller, 23)-"
