  • We reverse the jury's findings of liability.
  • Cohen asking Cowles Media to not publish his name, and Cowles agreeing to not publishing it.
  • Supreme Court Day
  • Cohen call out Cowles after their editors told them to publish his name and override what he wanted.
  • OMG The Verdict
  • The case went to a trial court and then the Minnesota court of appeals before going to the supreme court.
  • High School Affect
  • That Court case is still affecting us today.
  • They went to The Supreme Court and the court reasoned that generally acceptable laws do not offend the First Amendment, because of its effects on the news ability to report and gather news.
  • COURT DAY!!!
  • The Supreme Court said that Cohen did not use the promissory estoppel claim to avoid the strict requirements for his defamation claim but sought damages for breach of promise.
  • THE VERDICT IS IN!!!
  • It as affected high school today by stating that rules for the press and publications have to be stricter than they would be for anyone else.
