Storyboard Text

  • I think it may have been a meteor
  • What Was that?
  • Aliens!
  • Were gonna go find out!
  • Hey! Why is Les' car working?
  • It was a normal day on Maple Street until there was a streak of light in the air and a loud roar.  Everyone's electricity went out and no machines were working. Most of the neighbors gathered together outside to try and figure out what just flew through the sky and why nothing was working. One of the children in the neighborhood, Tommy, proposes that it was a spaceship and that aliens were coming. None of the adults believed him.
  • Yeah!
  • Hey Les! Why is your car the only working one in the neighborhood?
  • Everyone that was outside saw Les Goodman down the street trying to start his car. It didn't work. After he walked away from it randomly started up. The other neighbors were quite confused because all other cars in the neighborhood would not start up.
  • It was the Boy!
  • No, You!
  • It was you!
  • When the other neighbors saw the Les' car had started right up when he wasn't even near it, they grew quite angry and suspicious. No other cars in the neighborhood were working. They all decided to confront Les and find out why his car started up.
  • When the neighbors arrive at Les' house they immediately start making accusations that he is not a human and different from the others. It had become clear that the adults were starting to believe what Tommy had told them.
  • Eventually, everyone starts turning on each other and accusing each other of being aliens until absolute chaos breaks out and people start breaking stuff and throwing rocks at windows.
  • The play closes on two human-like aliens talking about how easy it is to turn humans against each other with something as little as a power outage. and that the people of Maple street are not unique and there are many more neighborhoods like it with more people to turn against each other.
