In the paleolithic age, people were nomads and moved around A LOT! This caused them to not have any permanent shelter. Since they were always moving and looking for a place to stay, they ended up sleeping in caves most of the time.
THIS IS SO COLD!
One big thing that we learned to do was farm. This affected the way we lived dramatically, we went from hunter gatherers to farmers, causing our settlements to change as well.
Another amazing thing we learned was to build permanent shelters. This idea came about because we realized that we would no longer need to be nomads and move all the time. So, we started building nice, permanent shelters to make life more comfortable.
WOW! THIS IS NEAT!
The development of permanent homes had a major impact on us, it made life a lot more comfortable. This is because, for the first time, we were completely protected from animals, the weather, and other deadly things. It also provided us things like storage, an area to cook food, and other accommodations.
The development of permanent shelters paved the way for many other ideas, one of which, was communities. The development of communities allowed people to live close together and spend more time with each other. This also led the way for job specialization, allowing things to get done much faster.
