Tokugawa Ieyasu was the first shogun of the Tokugawa shogunate in Japan. He rose to power when he led the army that defeated the the western army. After this the current Emperor made him shogun.
Policies: Ieyasu strengthened the feudal system in order to maintain a stable social structure. He did this by introducing numerous policies.
Policies: - reporting any castle repairs - restrictions on drinking parties - restrictions on the number of horsemen riding through the capital city - restrictions on the type and quality of clothes worn - restrictions on who is allowed to ride palanquins (chair carried by bearers)
