  • Should the United States ever support the limitations of constitutional rights in the name of National Security?
  • YES
  • ?
  • NO
  • The argument of whether or not we should support the limitations of constitutional rights in the name of national security has been around for a long time, The Japanese Internment Camps, segregation, 9/11, etc.. All of those things have passed over but the questions remains, now I'm going to make an argument for why their should be some limitations to non citizens. Keep in mind I'm not for limitations of American citizens rights, I just feel that we need to be careful.
  • Muslims have stolen American planes and drove them into big American buildings, for example 9/11. http://www.history.com/topics/9-11-attacks. Muslims hijacked American planes and flew them into the World Trade Center buildings and into the side of the Pentagon. We should find ways to keep terrorists away from our planes so if we have to give Non citizens brief checks before boarding planes, we should.
  • Let me talk to you for a second
  • Terrorist attacks also tend to happen where large groups of families go. Another example of a terrorist attack is when terrorists attacked Paris in the theater, even though this isn't America this is another time where they just allowed people to come in without a brief check and this happened. Even though it is very rare for something of this magnitude to happen, it is always better to be safe than sorry. So I believe a brief check of your belongings before you attend something with a lot of people in it. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-34818994
  • Terrorist attacks don't necessarily have to happen in indoors either, people even will attack right in the middle of the road at any time. Another recent example terrorist attack was the Boston Marathon bombing, killing 3 people but injuring 264. This is another time that you aren't always safe. These terrorist attacks aren't always classified to Muslims either. In fact only 6% of terrorist attacks were by Muslims, with 42% being Latino, we should be safe no matter what with non citizens, if that means limiting places where they go so be it to keep Americans safe. http://www.cbsnews.com/boston-bombings/
  • These are the reasons why I think that, even though it seems wrong, we should consider limiting some rights to non american citizens that come to America. Even if it just random brief searches and banning from certain events and places. It would really help keep America safe.
