  • Steve didn't know it, but he was about to be rescued by a cowboy and a spaceman. Inspired by Tin Toy, the 1989 short film Pixar, with the help of Steve, made the first ever computer animated movie in 1995. It was called Toy Story. It became the movie of the year. Pixar went on to make a dozen hit movies in a row. By 1996, after 10 years of struggle, Steve was a success. Now he was a billionaire. Now Apple wanted Steve back.

  • Listening to music was something else people did for fun. In the 1990’s people listened to music using A CD. Steve bought a software program that allowed people to take their favorite songs from a Cd and put it on a digital file. Once it was on the computer, you didn’t need the CD anymore. Steve named the program ITunes. Using this, people could turn their computer into their personal jukebox. In 2001, at a press event in California, Steve pulled out a device that was smaller than a chocolate bar. “WE CALL IT THE iPod.” It was a small device with great sound and each song was only 99 cents. Customers loved the IPod.

  • Suddenly, in 2003, something happened that Steve could not control. He had liver cancer! When Steve returned to work in September, he didn’t look well. He was losing weight and was pale. At Stanford university in 2005, he gave a speech to the graduates. “Time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s have the courage to follow your own heart. These were the words that Steve lived by.

  • By 2005 cell phones were everywhere. Steve and his friends didn't like their phones. It didn't work or look well. Steve decided to make a phone that people could fall in love with. In 2007, Steve showed the audience the IPhone. It was a powerful personal computer that could fit in your pocket. It had a touch screen instead of buttons. E-mail was on it, internet was too. It could also take photos and videos. The IPhone was a big hit.
  • In 2010, Steve brought out the Ipad, Apple’s first tablet. It was smaller, thinner, and lighter than anything else. The Ipad was a portable computer with no wires. It was much larger than the IPhone so it was easy to read books on it or surf the web or watch movies or play games. Apple sold 300,000 Ipads in one day. In 1997, apple had nearly gone bankrupt. In 2011, It was the most successful company in the world.
  • In august 2011, Steve left apple. He was no longer well enough to continue working. He stayed at home. It was October 5, 2011. “Oh wow, oh wow, oh wow” said Steve. Those were the last words he spoke. All over the world people were in great sadness. Apple stores were covered in sticky notes thanking Steve for all he’d done. People left bitten apples in tribute.
