  • Then invade somewhere that has oil and minerals.
  • They stopped supplying us with steel and oil. 
  • Japan's Imperialism
  • Our army has grown, we must invade China.
  • Pearl Harbor
  • Japan learning about the trade embargo put on them by the U.S.
  • U.S. Declares War
  • America declares war on The Empire of Japan!
  • Japan decides to invade China because we have cut off their supply of steel and oil, and because their army is strong and China is the only competitor. 
  • FDR
  • Today is a day that will live in infamy.
  • Pearl Harbor is important because it is a day that America was attacked and is what lead us to war.
  • Japan Surrenders
  • Japan Surrenders to the U.S.!
  • America declaring war on Japan pulled us right out of the depression. It employed many and increased our domestic product growth by over 50%.
  • FDR's speech was important because it was  very strong and informed the nation of Japan's intentions.
  • Japan surrendering to the U.S. was very important because it was stopped by atomic bombs being dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, it also meant that Americans wouldn't be drafted and killed anymore.
