  • Deputy Governor Danforth
  • But you must understand, sir, that a person is either with this court or he must be counted against it, there be no road in between.
  • Giles Corey
  • I never said my wife were a witch, Mr Hale; I only said she were reading books!
  • Mary Warren works for the John and Elizabeth Procter, and was one of the girls who was dancing in the forest. She knows Abigail is the one who accused Elizabeth of witchcraft, but cannot publicly release her name.
  • Deputy Governor Danforth is a man dedicated to his job, and placing justice and order over the people of Salem. He is very literal, and states that everything is black and white, and there is no shortcut or midway decision in his courtroom.
  • Giles Corey is an old man who had suspicions of witchcraft against his wife, that turns into an unwarranted threat of her life. He thinks that he is helping Reverend Hale rid Salem of the Devil, but he does not realize what consequences his actions have.
