This is a continuation of a map for a game app practicing identification of figurative language

Storyboard Text

  • Personification is when you assign the qualities of a person to something that isn't human
  • Can you picture this personification. The wind howled its mighty objection.
  • The last type of figurative language is hyperbole. Hyperbole is extreme exaggeration.
  • Two hyperboles are "I had a ton of homework." or "If I can’t buy that new game, I will die."
  • Here is a game you can play to practice recognizing the different forms of figurative language. A phrase will appear. Use the first letter of each type to label the phrase.
  • A correct response will earn points and another phrase. A wrong answer will go to a review of the word chosen, then another phrase.
  • Each screen will hopefully have an animated picture depicting the imagery.

  • Busy as a bee.
