Tom and his wife always fought about money. When Tom told her of the incident at the swamp and she wanted to go see for herself, not knowing that she would never return.
When Tom went looking for his wife, he could not find her. The devil appeared and told Tom that she was gone, but now Tom could get his treasure. Tom however would have to become a banker. He also would sell his soul to the devil.
Tom became very wealthy and built himself a vast house. He was doing great, however after a few years he regretted his deal with the devil. He became a very religious man. He would never miss church and would judge others who didn't attend it.
One day Tom was finishing up a mortgage deal, when suddenly the devil showed up. When the devil saw Tom he threw him onto the horse and the horse rode away. Tom's house was then burned down and everything of his was lost. That was the last time anyone one saw Tom Walker.
