What is a wedge, and why is it so important?
It is two inclined planes put together.
A wedge is used to push to objects apart. I use them a lot!
Now you got it, forks are considered wedges too. Screws are also simple machines.
Would that make an axe a wedge?
A screw is one simple machine on another one. It's an inclined plane wrapped around a cylinder
The force and load go the same way on a screw.
So which way do the force and load go.
One example of a screw is a lid on a bottle
