Storyboard Description

Rainsford and Witney were on a boat heading to Rio. While on the boat the men pass by the Ship-Trap Island. This island is known for its bad reputation. During the night, Rainsford heard gunshots coming from the darkness. To try to see where it was coming from, he stood in the rail, lost his balance and fell into the water. Going against the current he struggles to get to land. When he did, he took a long sleep. He woke up because he was hungry. He thought gunshots mean humans and where there is humans there must be food. While walking, he saw a giant mansion. He knocked on the door and I big man, Ivan, opened the door. Rainsford was scared but when he said his name General Zaroff appeared and showed him in to have food. While they were eating, General Zaroff said how he was bored of the game. He wanted to hunt something with reason. The only animal that can reason is humans. Rainsford decided to play because it was either play and have a chance to live or get killed by Ivan. Because both Rainsford and Zaroff are experienced hunters it would be a chance Rainsford will not survive. To win Rainsford has to stay alive for three days without Zaroff finding him. Rainsford gets away from Zaroff and his dogs by using tricks that he learned from hunting other animals. Then Rainsford surprises Zaroff in his bedroom and kills him because Rainsford won the game. General Zaroff has never slept in a better bed decided Rainsford.

Storyboard Text

  • Rainsford and Witney are hunters. They are in their way to Rio. The ship is passing by Ship-Trap Island. While they were passing it, Rainsford heard 3 gunshots. When he was trying to find out where they were coming from, he fell into the water. He was fighting to stay alive from the sea.
  • Rainsford swam into an island. The next morning, he found a big house. He was very hungry that he decided to knock on the door. General Karoff knew he was a famous hunter and invited him in to eat.
  • While they were eating, General Zaroff stated telling Rainsford how he was bored of the game. He wanted to hunt a more exciting animal. He wanted to hunt an animal that had reason. Rainsford realized that that animal was humans. He didn't want to believe that General Zaroff meant hunting humans.
  • Rainsford manages to get away from General Zaroff. Rainsford uses his tricks from places he visited before. For example, he used hid knife, got young sapling from a tree to get the dogs distracted. He ran off a cliff into the water. General Zaroff thought he died and he left and went back home.
  • General Zaroff was not enjoying his dinner because Rainsford didn't finish the game and he now has to replace Ivan. He went to his library to read and calm himself. He then went up to his bedroom to get ready for bed.
  • Rainsford was behind the bedroom curtain to wait for General Zaroff to go to his room. General Zaroff came in and was confused on how he lived. Rainsford said that "I am still a beast at bay." This means that General Zaroff still hasn't caught him yet. Rainsford then kills General Zaroff and said he had never slept in a better bed.
