  • The colonist were angry that they had to pay the tax for the tea. They thought that it was unfair.
  • The Boston Tea Party
  • The reason that they put taxes on the tea was so that the king could get back some money that he lost in the French and Indian War.
  • The colonist held a meeting. They planned to dump the tea without hurting anybody.
  • The colonist went onto the ship and dumped 342 chest of tea into the ocean. It was worth about 1 million dollars.
  • The Sugar Act effected people by making them pay taxes for sugar and molasses.
  • The Sugar Act
  • The reason that they had to have the taxes for the sugar was so that they could get back some of the money that they lost in the French and Indian War.
  • The colonist were angry with the tax and thought that it was unfair. So they protest about it.
  • The colonist complained about the taxes.
  • The colonist were also not happy that they had no say in the tax. And the tax was repealed in 1766.
