  • Today i'm gonna ask questions about floods. Remember a flood is a natural disaster event or occurrence where a piece of land, or area, that is usually dry land overflow by a large amount of water.
  • What can cause a flood?
  • Flooding occurs most commonly from heavy rainfall when natural watercourses don't have the capacity to convey excess water.
  • The effects of flooding includes loss of human life, damage to property, loss of livestock etc.
  • Whats the effects of floods?
  • How do they measure floods?
  • Floods are measured by the water level that's read by a stream gauge or tide gauge for a body of water at a specific location.
  • During a flood we should keep emergency numbers and important information, keep emergency supplies, make sure everything is secured, make sure you're in a safe place, etc.
