Juan receives email about 2018 objective setting
Juan approaches his boss, Malia, and asks if she would be willing to have one meeting instead of three separate meetings.
Malia agrees to give it a try. Asks Juan to prepare.
Well this is an encouraging email from HR. I'm starting to see signs of change. I'm all for simpler and flexible processes. (Besides, I dread the objective setting meetings. They usually feel so awkward and if there is a way to streamline this process, I'm willing to give it a try.)
Hey, Malia. Did you see this email from HR? I love having options and it says that this year we can have one conversation to talk about my work and career instead of having to schedule three separate meetings. Not only does that seem like it will be easier to manage from a calendar perspective, it kind of makes sense that we would talk about my objectives and development plan at the same time. Would you be interested in giving this a try?
Hmmm...I guess we could give this a try. Can you put a two hour block on our calendars? I'll cascade my objectives for you to copy into your form and you can build out the tasks that you will own to support these.
