ELA Homework 12/14/16

Storyboard Text

  • Meet Python Pete! He is being trained specially to track down pythons, which over-populate the southern regions of Florida.
  • Exotic pet owners brought Burmese Pythons to the forests and left them there, allowing them to multiply rapidly.
  • National Park Service officials have removed many pythons from the mid-1990's through 2004.
  • Pete's owner, Lori Oberhofer, who also worked with the Park Service, came up with the idea when she learned that Jack Russell terriers can be trained to find brown tree snakes. So, she thought she could train her dog to find the pythons!
  • Pete trains 2x a week to bark once he finds a Burmese Python. "Over the weeks, Max has really improved each time he trains." says Lori.
  • Go, Pete!!
