Just as Hercules got his 10th labor ended; he had started searching for the golden apples of Hesperides immediately. And during his journey he had met the Titan Prometheus. Who in fact has been unjustly punished. And for the first time Hercules had done his first greatest deed , by setting him free.
Hercules went in search of the Golden Apples for Hesperides guarded by the three daughters of Atlas with a great dragon. And once Hercules found Atlas they made a deal. If Hercules holds up the sky for Atlas he will go get the golden apples.
As Hercules held the sky for Atlas he was looking for the golden apples. And as Hercules got more and more weary of what he had done he started to worry that Atlas would not return. As well as leave him there for the rest of his life.
Through all the doubt that Atlas had finally returned, with the apples. Hercules was still not sure if he trusted Atlas. Also he wanted to complete his 11th labor without messing up or failing. And to insure the apples make it safely and weren't stolen he tricked Atlas to hold up the sky and ran away.
4 So he asked the giant to hold up the sky for just a minute while he eased his shoulders.
2 Atlas was true to his word; he brought the apples back.
3 “After all,” he told him, “even strong men need to rest.
1. Here the anger of Hercules at the Titan’s unjust fate was a righteous anger, and here perhaps he did his prometheus free.
5 Hercules was afraid that if Atlas Went off with the apples he would never come back, and the Hercules would have to hold up the skies until the end of time
