I became a voyageur because I need the money to help my family. And I will be leaving behind my family and friends.
After leaving St. Annes I feel uneasy about the trip ahead. And my fellow canoemen think that I'm going to hold them up because of my age.
I forgot how much my muscles hurt and how much blisters you get. And I didn't remember how much I miss my family.
I'm getting to old for this!
That portage was harder than any paddling we have done on this trip, I was slipping and sliding everywhere!
I have never seen such big waves before! I'm glad we stayed on the shoreline, I can't imagine going through the middle. It was like an ocean!
Yes! We made it! I thought that it would be bigger and there would be more people than this, but I guess not.
I'm glad that I am returning home, I have gotten really homesick. But, I think this was a good learning experience, so I probably will be signing on in the spring. Overall being a voyageur teaches you how to take care of yourself and really become a man.
