A visual for my Myth that I worte to explain how something in nature began and to teach a leson or moral.
A young girl, Salacia, was to be married to the Roman Emperor in a day but, because she didn't love him she followed her father, a ship captain, and hid on his ship as he set sail. She eventually revealed herself to her father. He was very angry with her and as a punishment threw her off the boat and left her on an abandoned island.
On the island, she was scared and lonely. She called out for help but could see nothing in the distance. It soon began to rain. She regretted nothing she had said to her father as she waited in the rain for her father to come and get her, but he didn't.
Deep under the surface of the water, Neptune, god of the sea, could hear a faint plea.
Salacia's tears fell into the water, making it salty. Her tears were enough to make the whole ocean filled with salt. Then, Neptune rose from the water to see what was wrong. He presently saw a beautiful maiden crying. "What's wrong?" he asked her. She explained to Neptune what had happened.
"Oh," said Neptune, "Well I could fix that!" "Really?!" she asks as she wiped away her tears. He then proceeded in turning her into a goddess. At first, she was happy but then realized. Now that she was immortal, she would have to see her family die and would never enjoy the mortal world again.
Salacia later married Neptune and lives in his underwater castle. To this day lives every moment of her immortal life regretting her decisions.
