Storyboard Text

  • Have a glass, with a card and a penny on top. Pull the card off of the glass and the penny will fall into the glass. The way this happens is because the card was moved, not the penny. That is our example of Inertia
  • This is Newton's First Law of Motion, Inertia.  An object at rest stays at rest unless moved by another force.
  • Newton's 2nd Law of Motion is force=mass x acceleration.
  • Our car broke down. If I only pushed the car, my force would push the mass slower.
  • If we both pushed the car,  our two forces would push the mass double the time than he would push the car alone.
  • For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
  • For example, if a cart hits another cart the second cart will be pushed with the same force as the first one.
  • Can you help me learn Newton's Third Law? I have a project, but i need help!
