  • The symbol of the story is freedom. The underground ground railroad is their way to freedom. They are trying to get freedom.
  • Alliteration
  • "His clothes are tattered, His feet are bare; They bleed from frostbite." I can see that his clothes are ripped and torn. His feet are bleeding from frostbite.
  • Tone
  • The allusion is the star because the star is what you follow to get to your freedom. It is referencing the north star.
  • Theme
  • "Freedom through flight." Freedom can not fly. It repeats f.
  • In the beginning of the poem he is sad because he is cold, his clothes are torn and his feet have frostbite. Towards the end he is feeling better because now he is free.
  • It is not easy to be free. I know this is the theme Because you have to fight for your freedom.
