The exposition in "The most Dangerous Game" is at the Carribean Sea in the 20th century. Rainsford thinks that hunting is the best sport. He is obsessed with hunting animals. That is what he basically always does. He says that there is hunters and huntees.
He swims to a island and he follows a trail. He found a place to stay at and he meets Ivan and Zaroff there. They talk and get to know eachother. One of them is also a hunter.
Zaroff tells Rainsford that he hunts humans. Rainsford was paranoid and he thought that was wrong . So he refuses to hunt with Zaroff, and he ends up telling him, but then he made a game with Rainsford.
They started the game. Rainsford makes a trail and climbs the tree. The tree falls, but it was a trap. He put a lot of traps. One of them was the knife trap but it killed Ivan instead when he jumps into the water.
Rainsford won the game, he was back to the island and Zaroff was surprised and they made a bet and Zaroff lost it when he thought he was going to win./ Lastly, Rainsford killed Zaroff defending himself.
