Hercules was going mad he was going so mad that he killed his wife and kids. He prayed to the god Apollo(The god known for light and the sun, truth and more).
So as a punishment for killing he had to serve the king of Tiryns and Mycenae for twelve years. As part of his sentence, Hercules had to perform twelve Labors, feats so difficult that they seemed impossible.
When Hercules got to Crete, he easily wrestled the bull to the ground and drove it back to King Eurystheus. Eurystheus let the bull go free. It wandered around Greece, terrorizing the people, and ended up in Marathon, a city near Athens.
