The United States eventually entered the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). It raised some conflicts in American, but overall it showed many benefits.
The Soviets saw the formation of NATO as a direct threat and decided to meet with a group of countries to sign the Warsaw Pact signed in Warsaw.
Albania, Poland, Hungary, East Germany, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, and Soviet Union members all came together in a meeting in Warsaw and signed a pact of their own know as the Warsaw Pact.
