Cady Andrews is an orphan and her boyfriend breaks up with her so then she finally decides to leave. She packs her things and she is given and envelope, which is the only thing left for her to connect with her parents.
As soon as Cady is done packing her things she goes to the bus stop waiting for the bus to pick her up. While shes waiting she doesnt want to know whats inside the envelope, so she throws it in the garbage. She sat back down when a homeless man was searching through the garbage he took it, so Cady wanted it back and she ripped it out of his hands.
When Cady arrived in Orrenstown she was greeted by many people, she got a job at a restaurant. She found a news reporter, Cady tried getting a job or at least even helping but he said he doesnt allow girls to be a new reporter. Cady met a girl named Maggie and she was very nice and offered her a place to stay for awhile.
Cady decided to do some research and wanted to write a news letter so she can impress the new reporter. She finally opens the envelope that was left for her and inside of it was a small peice of ripped newpaper, it was of a grave in Orrenstown so she decided to try and find it because she knew it meant something.
She met one of the guys that she met while she was working at the restaurant while she was waitressing. she told him she was looking for the cemetery he told her there was actually three in town so she would have to go to each one to find the grave.
She went to the first cemetary and she couldnt find the tombstone that was in the picture she had. Cady got a ride by the guy she met to the next grave and she finally found it. But for some reason the stone was destroyed and ruined and none of the other ones were. She went back to Maggies and asked her for some information about it. Cady was looking through all the files and papers but for some reason alot of the papers were missing and it sounded very suspiscous and strange because nothing was adding up...to be continued
