Storyboard Text

  • We need to go grocery shopping today. Why look at that, a rat is chasing a cat down the road.
  • I know, that's hilarious , mom.
  • Son, it feels like it is 1,000 degrees out.
  • Yeah, mom, it's been hot down here for the past week or so.
  • Thank you, you're a true Romeo.
  • Sweetie, can you go and get some apples.
  • Of course, mom.
  • The literary device shown in this dialogue is irony because everyone expects the cat to be chasing the rat, but in this case it is the other way around, creating irony.
  • We have to go now, it's getting dark. Did you find the apples?
  • Yes, I found them on the back shelf, these apples are as shiny as a sword's blade.
  • The literary device shown in this dialogue is a hyperbole because the mom is showing how hot it is outside.
  • Let's hurry up before the creatures of the night come and get us.
  • We are only a half a block away, I think we will be fine.
  • The literary device shown in this dialogue is an allusion because the mom is making a reference to Romeo and Juliet.
  • THE END
  • The literary device shown in the dialogue is a simile and it occurs when the son compares an apple's shine to the shine on a sword's blade.
  • The literary device shown in the dialogue is a metonym because the mom is using another name for all the rodents and ghost that are in the dark, and in this case she uses the words, the creatures of the dark.
