  • Cattle Drive, Beef North, & Boom and Bust
  • Cattle Drive, Beef North, & Boom and Bust
  • Cattle Drive, Beef North, & Boom and Bust
  • The Cattle drive was one of the most important events in the beef industry.   Cows from the south were being brought in to the Midwest to be killed and used for meat.
  • Cattle Drive, Beef North, & Boom and Bust
  • During the Cattle Drive it was a battle to go on a tail because you had to walk and make sure your cows are in order.  Sometimes at night other ranchers would steal cows from another rancher when they were asleep because the more cows, the more money.
  • Cattle Drive, Beef North, & Boom and Bust
  • Beef in the north was big.  It would go through the process of cows being slaughtered but the north didn't really have a lot of ranchers due to weather conditions.  Prices of beef went up when the cooking of the cow was learned.
  • Cattle Drive, Beef North, & Boom and Bust
  • Beef in the north actually brought jobs due to the need of chop house workers.  Beef blew up until it went down in price due to people over doing the cattle industry.
  • There have been many boom and bust cycles in this countries lifetime.  Boom and bust is when it was a popular industry but then dies off due to so many other getting in the business.
  • In the boom and bust cycles we've had cattle and oil.  There's been way more but those are the main ones that really hit the cycle.  Oil has gone through the cycle so many times that it's not even funny.
