  • Revolution of 1911
  • In 1911 Sun Yat Sen, a Chinese idealist, tried to make China a Republic. But after president Shikai's death, the Chinese people were divided into Nationalist and Communist camps. Sun Yat Sen in the south organized a nationalist movement with the help of warlords.

  • In 1919 a student-led revolt fueled by Nationalist and Communist ideas of re-unifying China.

  • Nationalists v. Communists/ Long March
  • In 1928 Nationalist and Communists capture Beijing and end war lord rule. A Nationalist leader, Chiang Kaisik starts killing thousands of Communists. After that, Mao Zedong becomes leader of the Communists and leads his followers to rebuild communism out side of communist rule.
  • Let us go brothers and free ourselves from Nationalist's bounds!!!
  • Jap Invasion 1937
  • Japan invaded China in 1937, thus halting the civil war. Both sides decided to collectively fight against Japan. The Nationalist army suffered most during the war, and the Communist army grew during Japanese Occupation.
