"Two men come around the corner, Stanley Kowalski and Mitch. They are about twenty-eight or thirty years old, roughly dressed in blue denim work clothes. Stanley carries his bowling jacket and a red-stained package from a butcher's. They stop at the foot of the steps."
"You can't beat on a woman an' then call 'er back!"
Stanley was a man known to hit Stella to show dominance while inebriated. He thought that if his masculinity would be questioned if he didn't do anything sexist towards a woman.
"She moans. The bottle top falls. She sinks to her knees. He picks up her inert figure and carries her to the bed. The hot trumpet and drums from the Four Deuces sound loudly."
Stanley uses forceful sex to show dominance and reassures his alpha status from Blanche who he felt threaten by, Stanley would never allow a woman to undermine him.
Stanley assured his masculinity by objectifying women and using sex to his advantage. This is like life because women still have to deal with men trying to prove their manhood at the expense of the women.
