Storyboard Text

  • Why does Tillinghast want me at his home? Knowing him, it must be for a good purpose.
  • Benevolent St.
  • Joe's
  • Except you, of course. I tried to warn you...
  • 350
  • Greetings! Please, come inside. Regarding the experiments, what do we know of the world and universe about us? Wait- why do you look so uneasy? There's nothing to worry about.
  • My best friend, the scientist Crawford Tillinghast, had told me his goal in his research ten weeks ago. Since then, I have not seen him except alone and in the attic with a strange machine. At this point, I didn't know what the machine did, since I haven't seen him lately.
  • Where are the servants? Shouldn't they be here? What is Tillinghast even talking about? Why am I doing this again? What does he want from me?
  • Within twenty-four hours that machine near the table will generate waves acting on unrecognised sense-organs...
  • A letter arrived from Tillinghast. It told me to head to his home, which functioned as his lab, on Benevolent Street. Supposedly, Tillinghast was attempting to discover new senses and expand the human race. The letter also mentioned he wanted me to test something.
  • You're connected to the machine now; it will be just a couple of seconds to start it up...
  • Do you know what that is? That is ultra-violet.” You thought ultra-violet was invisible...
  • When I got to Tillinghast's home, I saw him for the first time in a while, and he did not look as I expected him to. His skin was grey, and his eyes were strangely glowing green. He fully explained what he was doing, and we eventually entered the house.
  • What is that? Is it something I am supposed to see with my eyes, or with a new sense I should be given soon? ...oh.
  • I discarded the candle and envelope before following Tillinghast to the second floor, where we would get to the attic from. He finally explained what he was doing, and I believed him and agreed to test his machine, even though he had an unhealthy look about him.
  • Once we reached the attic, Tillinghast connected me to the machine, then went to its control panel. After he flipped a switch, the machine began to start up with a sputtering noise. Nothing was happening at the moment, but I knew that was about to change.
  • Sputter...
  • The machine now only softly hummed, and things began to happen. Ultra-violet light was shined on me, and I could, strangely, see it. Strange rays lit up the whole room now. Perhaps Tillinghast was right, and I would gain new senses from this experience.
  • Hummm...
