• Shane are you ok? you look a little down.
• Actually no i haven't. i'm having a hard time understanding Pythagorean theorem and i have a big test tomorrow.
• Pssshh i can totally help you to understand! Show me and example!
• Here we have a right triangle with a missing side. the long side without a number is the hypotenuse. to solve and find that missing side you will use the formula a^2+b^2=c^2.

• 13
• x
• a and b would the sides that have a value or number next to them. so in this situation the equation would be 5^2+13^2=c^2
• then what do you do next?
• you then square both and come out with 25+169=c^2. you then add the two together and get 194. and now to get rid of the exponent on the c you take the square root of 194 and your answer will be 13.93=c.

• No problem! glad i could help!
• Thats it! that surprisingly makes a lot more sense! i'll try it out. thanks for the help Tim!
