In November of 1917 the Bolsheviks, led by Vladimir Lenin, overthrew the government. The Bolsheviks were Marxists who believed their revolution reflected the political interests of the proletariat.
The Bolshevik's strategy was founded on democratic centralism and vanguardism. They believed that they understood the interests of the working people better than the people did themselves.
Trotsky must go.

The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) officially formed in 1922.
I control the economy now!
During the Civil War from 1918-1922, the government took control of economic sectors.
Lenin died suddenly in 1924.
Stalin rose to power and by 1929 all opposition was silenced.
