  • hello today we are going to talk about multiples and common multiples
  • what is a multiple and common multiple Mr Dexter
  • A multiple is the result of multiplying a number by a whole number include negative number but not fraction. Common multiple is a number that is a multiple of two or more numbers.
  • Example: Multiples of 3 : ..., -9, -6, -3, 0, 3 , 6, 9,.... So we know that 12 is a multiple of 3, as 3 x 4 =12 But 7 is not a multiple of 3
  • Look at the board for the explanations
  • Example of Common Multiple: Multiples of 2 are 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, ... Multiples of 3 are 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, ... So, common multiples of 2 and 3 are 6, 12, 18,...
  • Now look at the board for example of Common Multiples
