  •  I want you two to gather information about this new land.
  • May 14, 1804  Lewis and Clark departs from Camp Dubois at 4pm, marking the beginning of the voyage.
  • Are you sure you brought everything, Clark?
  • I'm sure, Lewis.
  • During the voyage, they met a Shoshone woman who was called Sacagawea. She proved herself as a guide and translator.
  • Hello, I'm Sacagawea.
  • In the journey the thirty-three people, including Sacagawea, faced starvation and bear attacks.
  • I bet this bear is as starving as I am.
  • Roar
  • After 18 months and nearly 4,000 miles, Lewis and Clark reached the Pacific Ocean and spent the winter there.
  • We are spending the winter here
  • Aww!
  • After the winter, they headed back east, returning in September 1806.
  • Even though there wasn't a water route across North America, we collected information about people, places, and animals.
  • But most importantly, our journey inspired people to move Westward.
