Jack Lucas lived on a tobacco farm his mother in Plymouth, North Carolina.
When Jack was young his mother would have send him to Military school. Then over the years Jack wanted to join the Marines so when he was 14 years old he tried to volunteer at the Marine recruiting station. He was rejected due to his age.
Jack then forged his mother´s signature and later the marine recruiting believed him he joined the marine corps. Then later went to Pearl Harbor.
When Jack and his team were trying to take out the enemy, a japanese soldier came out and thew two grenades but one was a dud, but the other one ex bowed knocked down Jack. His team thought he was dead and left him behid.
Later after the battle when they where picking up the dead a soldier saw that Jack hand moved and called for a medic.
After the war Jack was awarded the medal of honor which is the highest military medal. He was the youngest soldier to receive this medal.
