  • Exposition: Madame Loisel is revealed to feel entitled.
  • All the qualities of a gracious life should be mine.
  • Foreshadowing: The use of the word "certainly" hints at the fact that the ring is a fake, because she shows no hesitation in giving it to her.
  • Certainly!
  • Can i have this one?
  • Climax: Madame Loisel has lost the necklace
  • I've lost the necklace, how am i supposed to confront madame forestier now?
  • Falling Action: Monsure Loisel asks his co-workers if they will let him borrow money to pay for the diamond necklace.
  • Is it going to be paid back with interest.
  • Can I borrow 400 francs from you?
  • Dynamic Character:In the beginning Madame Louse doesn't work and feels that she is entitled, but later on she accepts her position in life.
  • I am accepting of this work I have to do.
  • Irony: In the end the necklace that Madame Loisel spent all of her money, and went into poverty for, was a fake all along.
  • The necklace i gave back to you wasn't your original necklace. I had to buy an entirely new one.
  • The Necklace you borrowed was a fake, worth 400 francs at the most.
