  • Chapter 14
  • After the discussion, Prendick comes out from the water and fires the revolver to make sure it works. The trio heads back into the enclosure in the forest and Montgomery scares off the Beast Folk into the forest.
  • Chapter 14
  • The trio returns to the enclosure and Moreau explains that he is not after him to experiment and is experimenting on animals using vivisection to graft one body part to another. He is trying to enhance anaimls to be like humans.
  • Moreau sticks a knife in his leg claiming that pain is all in the mind. He claims he's helping mankind by discovering God's laws through the pain he inflicts on the animals. He then tells Prendick his personal story. After being driven from London, Moreau settled on the island with Montgomery and six Kanakas people.
  • As Moreau's story continues, his experiments grew better and better up to his liking. After a while, all the Kanakas people where gone or dead. He finishes his story and tells Prendick to get some sleep and night went on.
