They reached the San Joaquin Valley. It looked flat and spread out like a blanket of patchwork fields. One side of the highway there was acres of grapevines and in the other side there were fields of dark green cotton plants.
Each people lived in there own cabins some were the Filipinos, Japanese, and some were even from Oklahoma. They all live separate and even worked separate. Beyond some trees there was the Mexican camp were Esperanza was.
One half of the room was the kitchen with a stove,sink, and counter,and a table and some chairs. This is hard for Esperanza once she saw the inside of the cabin she thought it wasn't theirs hoped it would be better but it wasn't.
While Hortensia, Josefina, Alfonso and he others are working. Esperanza and Isabela were going to take care of the babies and do some chores. However, Esperanza does not know to do any of those things.
How do I do this?!!?
Hortensia, Josefina, Esperanza´s mom will be packing grapes in the sheds. Whle Alfonso and Juan will be picking grapes and Miguel left to Bakersfield to find job.
Esperanza would tel anything to Isabel how her life was. However, she would have to teach her hot to pin diapers, how to wash, and how to sweep the floor.
