Natural Selection Daniel Diaz Period: 8
At one time white fur, black fur, and golden fur penguins lived in the middle of Antarctica. Verybody lived happily and there was no trouble.
But one day everything changed. An evil pack of artic foxes went on a killing spree to kill as many as possible. Many black fur penguins died leaving 17% of the population as white penguins.
The penguin population went up by 70% in just a few years. Today, 87% of all penguins have white fur. Even their offsprings have the same adaptation due to it being in their genes which allow the next generation to have white fur, too.
Due to natural selection, more white fur penguins started to reproduce over time and started to have babies. The white fur penguin population started to rise up over the years thanks to their variation that's their adaptation.
Now white fur penguins are harder to spot in the snow which make them less likely to be found by predators. Penguins can now live in a safe environment for the future generations. The End.
