  • Mexico Welcomes Large Number of Anglo-Americans immegrants
  • "I'M STILL SPEAKING ENGLISH!"
  • 1835 New Dictator of Mexico
  • "As new dictator  of Mexico, I command you to disarm the Texans at all cost."
  • Battle of Gonzales 
  • "Come and Take It!"
  • Mexico invited hundreds of Anglo-American immigrants into their territory in hopes they'd become loyal Mexican citizens, but most still spoke English, started their own schools, and still did trade with America. 
  • Battle of the Alamo
  • Santa Anna became the new dictator and ordered the Mexican Army to disarm the Texans.
  • Battle of San Jacinto
  • The Mexicans came to take the cannon they gave to the Texans, and the Texans were ready for action. The leader of the Texans, Moore aimed the cannon at the Mexicans and said "Come and take it" and fired the cannon causing the Mexicans to retreat.
  • Texas Statehood
  • "Texas is officially a union state." 
  • The Mexicans sent 1,800 to 6,000 men to the Alamo to defeated the Texans. The Texans held off for 13 days, but the Mexicans got in and defeated all the Texans.
  • The Texans launched a surprise attack and routed the Mexicans and took hundreds as prisoners, including Santa Anna.
  • Texas became a Union state, but that broadened America over issues of slavery and ignited the Mexican-American War.
