Storyboard Text

  • The Knight is given the old ugly woman to be his wife after she saves him from decapitation.
  • What do you think? How would you feel having such a lowborn, ugly, old husband?
  • What is wrong? Why are you sad?
  • She then explains to him that there have been sons of noble fathers, who were shameful and villainous, though they shared the same blood. Her family may be poor, but real poverty lies in covetousness, and real riches lie in having little and wanting nothing.
  • But gentleness, as you with recognize, is annexed in nature to possessions.
  • Hmmmm....
  • You have two choices: have me be ugly and loyal, or young, pretty, and unfaithful.
  • After a few seconds of him pondering, he answers exactly what she wants to hear. She gets the choice.
  • "I leave the matter to your wise decision. Whatever pleases you suffices me."
  • So in return of the good act, she becomes both good and beautiful!
  • And they live happily ever after!
  • "And word of honour, you shall find me both fair and faithful as a wife."
