This storyboard does not have a description.
When something is squeezed the kind of stress that occurs is called compression. If this happens at a convergent boundary of 2 continental plates then folded mountains can form. When something is stretched the kind of stress that occurs is called tension. This happens at divergent boundaries, where the two plates are pulling away from each-other.
The highest mountain ranges in the world are folded mountains, including the Appalachian mountains, the Alps, the Ural mountains, and the Himalayas.
Fault-block mountains form when tech-tonic forces cause blocks of rock to drop relative to another. If these blocks are sedimentary, the mountains will have jagged peaks.
Thanks, Bethany! I'm sure to pass that test now! Yeah, no problem, but you would know this if you payed attention in class. Touche. Anyway, bye Bethany. Wait, May, where are you're notes! Oops!
