  • Mitch Albom tells us the story of him and Morrie, Mitch’s former professor, holding a good professor-student relationship; suddenly Morrie starts giving strange signs of clumsiness, he knew this wasn't only his advanced age, so he started seeing doctors, being in various medical tests, they then diagnose him with ALS.
  • Climax
  • The last Mitch saw Morrie, he promised him to keep in touch, he didn't, now he feels a void inside of him, he tried to fill that void, but such void can not be filled with accomplishments and richness. Such void can only be filled with something else, something that only Morrie could give him. He saw Morrie on TV and after the show he needed to see Morrie.
  • Falling Action
  • After watching the show Mitch was sure he should talk to Morrie, so he decides to take action and visit him. The moment he watched his favorite teacher wave at him, his heart was filled with joy as he sprinted to hug him in the entrance of his house.
  • Resolution
  • Morrie’s wife tells Mitch to visit him in October and he agrees, but when he arrives he see’s Morrie very thin and fragile, he could barely breath. Mitch feels bad and starts to cry, telling him that he will visit him back next week.
  • Morrie can no longer any of the food Mitch brings him. His condition is drastically worse, as the disease has reached his lungs, which he had always said would mark his death. He relies on a Oxygen tank to breath. Just after Mitch leaves and passes away, Morrie falls into coma. He waited until all of his family had left the room to draw his final breath.
  • Mitch contacts his brother in Spain, who has cancer, and instead of remembering the past he had with him, he tries to build a new relationship with him. Mitch finds a new reason to live, he learned from Morrie's that there are other things in life that can give you happiness and not only money.
