Hi! I am a Nitrogen Cell in the atmosphere! I am going to tell you my story and the journey I take, called the Nitrogen Cycle
When I got into the soil, I met a legume plant. The bacteria in the plant gave me some hydrogen which I turned into Ammonia! This is called Nitrogen Fixation!
I help with the growth of plants by becoming a Nitrate, through the process of Nitrification
A rabbit came along and ate the Legume Plant that I was absorbed in as a Nitrate
After a few years, the rabbit that ate me died so the fungi and bacteria Decomposed the rabbit and me. So i turned back into Ammonia and Nitrites. This process is called Decomposing.
Through the process called Denitrification. I was broken down into Nitrogen gas by anaebolic bacteria. Then im back into the atmosphere.
