  • Pricing By - Devin Thompson
  • Hello ma'am... We have this newspaper selling for $1 would you like one?
  • Hello sir, I saw a stand down the street that were selling for 75 cent, why is yours $1?
  • Well ma'am, we work directly with the company to ensure they make a bigger profit.
  • I see now, so the other stand sells it for less because they want to make a bigger profit
  • Pricing is the price of a product that a consumer can buy. Some places change prices so the store that is selling the product can make a profit
  • This happens in a lot of foreign countries because tourists are not used to buying foreign things so stores try to make a profit by upselling the product
  • Stores like Walmart and Target do this also, they sell the same products but have strict contracts to sell them at differenet prices so both stores can make a profit
